Celebrate with us! National Physical Therapy Month is recognized on the National Health Observances Calendar, and is celebrated in the United States each October. The goal of the month long celebration is to raise awareness on the positive impact that Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants have on our health. Physical Therapists are a holistic option for treating pain, regaining range of motion, and overall improving quality of life for the patients they treat.
According to the APTA, sales of opioids in the United States has nearly quadrupled since 1999; therefore, Americans have been increasingly exposed to higher risks of depression, overdose, addiction, and withdrawal symptoms through use of these opioids. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been urging health care providers to #ChoosePT to treat the pain instead of just masking it.
Are you, or someone you know in pain? We encourage you to talk to one of our Physical Therapists today about safer ways to manage pain!
