My First Visit
Christopher Ellis

Christopher Ellis, PT, DPT, Cert. DN - Clinic Director

Chris is an Arizona native, having grown up in north Phoenix. After high school, basketball took him to Grand Junction, Colorado where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Corporate Fitness from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) while playing for the Mavericks. He then continued his studies at A.T. Still University (Arizona School of Health Sciences) in Mesa, AZ where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006.

Early in his professional career, Chris was one of the first physical therapists hired by OSR, working in Anthem in 2006. In addition to his experience in outpatient orthopedics, he also trained and worked at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, treating post operative joint replacements, neurological conditions and post operative organ transplants.

In 2008, Chris returned to Colorado where he practiced outpatient orthopedics and sport performance. He also worked as part of the Colorado Mesa University (CMU) medical staff, treated collegiate and professional athletes, taught multiple classes in the Kinesiology department at CMU, and pursued additional certifications in spinal manipulation and dry needling. Partnering with the Monfort Family Human Performance Lab at CMU, Chris helped design and implement the return to sport protocol used following an ACL reconstruction.

Chris returned to Arizona in early 2015, excited to rejoin the Orthopedic & Sport Rehab (OSR) Physical Therapy family. Chris enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and camping. Living in Colorado heightened his love of the outdoors, and he made it his goal to summit each of the 54 “fourteeners” (mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation) and so far has tackled 13 of them. He hopes to return regularly in pursuit of this passion.
