Troy Merckle, PT, DPT, CSCS attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas majoring in Biology and subsequently completing his Physical Therapy degree at Ohio State University in 1997. Additionally, he has earned his Certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Troy has spent his professional career in outpatient orthopedic medicine, with an emphasis in the sports medicine environment, a skill set uniquely appropriate for the patients he serves at Orthopedic & Sport Rehab (OSR) Physical Therapy.
Troy has prescribed rehabilitation and performance enhancement programs for elite and recreational athletes at all competitive levels in gymnastics, football, basketball, baseball and soccer. His reputation and expertise have put him face to face with Olympic track athletes, NFL players (including participation in the NFL combines), professional basketball players and professional soccer players. Also staying busy with Major League Baseball, Troy served for 9 years as a physical therapist in the Cincinnati Reds organization and contributed as a consultant for the Washington Nationals.
Troy has spoken at several continuing education events, focusing on functional assessment, rehabilitation, and conditioning. He is an excellent communicator and is able to quickly gain the confidence of his patients and peers alike. Troy’s ability to combine functional rehabilitation, superb manual therapy skills and effective communication has proven highly effective in the treatment of the orthopedic and spine patients he helps on a daily basis. Troy and his wife, Amy, have 2 daughters and enjoy spending time together as a family.
