Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Assist physical therapists in conducting patient assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide hands-on physical therapy interventions, exercises, and modalities as directed.
Treatment Implementation:

  • Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to patients, ensuring proper form and technique.
  • Assist with manual therapy techniques, such as stretching and joint mobilization.
Progress Monitoring:

  • Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions, noting improvements or concerns.
  • Communicate observations to the supervising physical therapist.
Patient Education:

  • Educate patients about their conditions, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
  • Ensure patients understand and can perform exercises correctly.
Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including progress notes and treatment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and practice policies.
Equipment and Resource Management:

  • Set up and maintain therapy equipment and modalities.
  • Assist with communicating and organizing necessary supplies.
Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the provider team to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualifications:

  • State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (new graduates welcome).
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients as required.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
