Chris Fernald
(PTA)
Chris has always had an interest in body movement and function. After his own surgeries, and the need for physical therapy, his interest for becoming a Physical Therapy Assistant peaked even more. He graduated with his associates degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Gateway Community College in 2007 and continues to love his profession every day. He is certified through ErgoScience for administration of functional capacity evaluations, post offer employment testing, and work hardening and conditioning. Chris’s manual certifications include, “Treatment of Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction and Lumbopelvic Pathomechanics” through the Hesch institute, “Management of the Cervical and Thoracic spine”, and a certification as a rock blade IASTM practitioner. As an avid knowledge seeker, he would like to continue his education within modern therapeutic exercise techniques including load-oriented stretching and blood restriction exercise experience.
We have an Arizona native in the house! Chris is a former professional martial arts instructor and soccer athlete. He enjoys training at his home gym, tending to his gardens, and spending time with family. He looks forward to yearly vacations at the family beach cabin in Oceano California with his amazing wife of 24 years, Lisa, 2 stepchildren, and a one-year-old granddaughter.
